Think it was bikerumour on twitter before that mentioned a Carbon Orange 5  I wonder if they could still get the built in a shed look with carbon?
What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?

    Or a road bike...

    or a 29er

    or a replacement R8, maybe a C8?

Orange's Facebook page is saying it is not what you think it will be, so I'd bet a mars bar it's not a carbon 5 or ST4

It's a pedal powered sybian. Carbon fibre wipes clean easily you see.

Or, perhaps it's a CX frame or road bike. But it's not a carbon Five.

To all those who think being designed/built in Halifax is a good thing, you should go, but be warned, you might change your mind. Especially when the 'locals' offer you a Hi 6..

Looks you've started another one, Ben.
I'm staying out of this one. The unconditional Orange fanboys are stupid, and the Orange bashers are equally stupid.

The bottle cage bolt on the seat tube kinda gave that one away.

Engineering Question: Technically, aren't all bikes monocoque? Although the literal translation is 'Single Skin' isn't monocoque simply a reference to the fact that the outer skin of the structure is also its primary structural support? Aren't lots of 'monocoque' things are welded or joined? Wondering if any engineer types could clear that up for me.

Ooohh, Put SRAM Rival on that and I'd be very tempted, I like "representing" the UK abroad, and I'm not in the least bit serious about road riding so even if it is a bit heavy I would nt mind too much!

Surprised they ve not gone for the Hope Pro III hubs though, very un-orange

Love the front end but the seat stays look a little weird + chunky. Aside of that, great colours and typically for Orange...over priced!

Is it really that overpriced though? The article says it's £1900.. A Speccy Roubaix with 105 will cost £2.2k in 2012, last year's Scott CR1 was £1900, no doubt next year's will be more. Same with BMC, Colnago, Bianchi etc... all around the £2k mark.

Looks to have decent wheels and reasonable brand-name finishing kit.

    I like it.

Other than the gears, wheels and finishing kit? There's not much left!

I've got a full carbon road bike with 105 throughout, Shimano wheels and basic but decent finishing kit (including a carbon seatpost) it cost £1k a year ago, so £1900 sounds expensive, but then I don't know how much a 'proper' brand would charge for the same thing.

I wonder how long it will be before the chinese frame code pops up on the 'chinese frames' thread

700 for frameset from planetx (the nanolight)
    500 for a full 5700 groupset
    150 for wheels
    200 for everything else
    so something doesn't add up

£350 for being designed in Halifax

Not really convinced any more than the sticker set was designed in Halifax tbh. But I guess we'll see! And after all those stickers are damned expensive, that's why an R8 is 25% more than a Cotic Soul.

I know there's a widespread dislike of anything Orange on this board, but given that this retails at exactly the same price point as almost every other traditional road bike manufacturer's equivalent 105-equiped, carbon framed offering... what's the problem?

It's not as if anyone's even ridden it yet!

That's well done. Suddenly I'm less keen unless the frame/wheels are much lighter (be surprised). I thought 105 was much more than that (I'd want it with a SRAM gruppo though, hands are too small for Shimano).
