Hi guys,
Im looking at getting back into riding again as around 4 years ago I think now I had my bike stolen. Im out of touch on what the decent forks and specs are now and therefor im after something just for some general road riding plus trails.
A MTB Is what I'm after with a budget of under £500.
Which are the best bikes in this price range?
Some suggestions would be great thanks.

Take a look at these, mainly last years models so you get more spec for your money

a lot of folks on this forum are reccommending the Decathlon Rockrider 8.1 if you're after a new MTB

As above, the Rockrider 8.1 is the best value bike for this money. Or Carrera Fury.0

Ive checked all the above out cheers all.
I also came across this but I dont know how it compares or what those forks are like.

Nice frame, some nice parts - but catastrophically bad fork which ruins the bike completely.0

Forks will allways be an issue on low budget bike, can't find any reviews but it comes stock on a Jamis which BR reveiwed earlier this year
RST’s Gila Pro fork isn’t great but the undamped rebound thunk is less harsh than most forks on £450 bikes and the initially very stiff compression feel seemed to loosen slightly towards the end of the test period, but still only giving about 70mm of the theoretical 100mm of travel on offer.
Looking at the Rockrider spec....that's what I would consider, but there is also the Canyon Yellowstone 3.0 which is just over budget plus shipping...looks great though

Aslong as the frame is solid then thigns like forks can be changed easily enough, not the same for a rubbish frame!!0 -
But the fury and RR have a nice frame AND nicer forks, so why bother?*

All im saying is that with a solid base everything else is less important cause it can be changed or upgraded easily or for not too much money.
A rubbish frame on the other hand........0 -
Crap frames don't really exist at this price point anymore.0

And decent forks are not that cheap.I don't do smileys.
