Tyres for Road + Offroad

Hiya,
Wondering what are some good tyres to get for my Trek 6700 2009 hardtail.
It'll be ridden on road and also off road casually.
Nothing too taxing so want something that can handle road just as well.

Any suggestions? Preferably a relatively cheap set - its a 26 wheel.

    I've never used them myself but for £7.99 a pop they might be worth a punt.

    You basically need a semi-slick, as slick as possible for road use but with some grip for your offroad activity.
