Changed bike change

Now I have just replaced my chain on my Kona Dew Deluxe 2010, now it is a 24 speed 3 front cogs 8 rears cogs but it seems to be noisier than the original chain, is this normal or am I missing something here?

    Novice here, but was told you must replace the cassette when you replace the chain.

    Provided it's not skipping it must be pretty close and will quieten after a few hundred miles. Probably best to get a new cassette with your next chain.

    As a rule of thumb: 2x chains per cassette, 2x cassette by chainrings
