Well this afternoon picked up my new ride after much deliberating about which bike to buy, going to be used as a commute/xc racing bike.

Love this bike and you don't see many of them about!

Stock weight off the shelf - 27.5lbs

Here she is -

Normal spec list - Whyte 809

Changed some things already as you may notice.

Taken off the stock alloy pedals and awaiting the MG1's to arrive, swapped out the Alex/Sram wheels and replaced with my American Classics, then I'll swap the Nobbys over for some Racing Ralphs to shed more weight and less drag.

Weight now 24.7 without pedals at the moment. so will be just above 25lbs.

I'll probably change the fork from the Recon Gold to a Reba in the not too distant future too.

Nice bike, but near 3lb saving over stock just by changing wheels :?:

    Stock wheels -
    Wheels - 2074
    Tyres - 679
    Tube - 200

    New -
    Wheels - 1425
    Tyres - 520
    Tube - 150

Saving = 1067g (all of the above weighed on my scales)

Original pedals weighed a whopping 592g (crap alloy pedals with chucky plastic clip-ins), new pedals 380g

    Saving - 212g

Total 2.83lbs saved, I will at some point get around to changing to tubeless too.

Upgraded the fork, courtesy of ATB and the LBS for a small extra charge. Also changed the tyres to the Ralphs which for XC are awesome imo.

F-Series Fox fork, which is super dooper smooth and light.

Should get some pics of it in action really.

Very nice! Had my 901 for a few weeks now, top quality trail bike. I'm quite enjoying the Recon Golds, 20mm Maxle makes a difference.
