i.e. the ones where there's one DVD for every year; http://cyclingweekly.ipcshop.co.uk/shop ... rance-dvds

I'd like to get some of these, but they seem very expensive - presumably because I cant find them for sale anywhere else.

Are they worth the money - are they good quality DVDs?

I presume the 3-4 hour versions is more than adequate - or are the "12 hour collectors editions" really worth the extra (or is it just all the boring parts added in to pad it out)?

I can't comment on these DVDs, but I urge you to watch Chasing Legends this Thursday on ITV4 at 8pm.

They are basically the footage you'd see on ITV4 turned into one long highlights package i.e. Gary Imlach presenting and Phil & Paul commentating. The presentation is very good and they are a good watch. They are expensive for two reasons; firstly because they don't make many of them and secondly because I think the ASO charge a lot of money to license the footage.

On balance they are not cheap, but the product is good. The longer versions simply tend to show more detail i.e. more coverage of the key mountain stages etc, up to you what you want really.

Excellent - thanks for the info.

I suppose 3 weeks of racing into 3 hours means a lot gets missed out (but equally I dont want to get bored with 12 hours of footage!), but it is very expensive comparing the 12 hr and 3hr versions...

My birthday is coming up soon, so may be able to wangle a few of these as gifts!
