did I say that I love it ?

got a mint one from a BR member and replaced my charge spoon ( which was cutting the arse off me  )from doing research before buying my arione, I could see it is a saddle which certainly divides opinion.went out on it tonight , not a twinge of the bumcheeks, legs were as strong as the proverbial ox and it felt like i could charge on all night :D gonna see if I can get a tenner for the spoon , but im delighted with the arione to say the least. anybody else have one on their ride ?

I may have to give that saddle a try, heard many good things about it but am still undecided on whether I want to change mine or not.

Tires are up first, in any event.

I'll give you a tenner for the Spoon if it's in very good nick and is white - don't normally get too many people not getting on with the Spoon and they are good VFM

I like the Arione too - got one on my Colnago C40

+1 I swapped from a SLK to a Arione and haven't looked back. I was tempted on the Aliante, but in the end I went for a Arione, as I got it for a 1/3 of the price new on FleaBay. If a Aliante comes up cheap I may try one of those.

Or you could add it to the £40 your prepared to spend on a jersey and your almost have enough for the Exteondo Vuelta Ciclista al País Vasco KoM jersey!

I agree about the Arione. The best saddle out there. My last one did about 12000 miles before going too soft. The new one has reminded me how good they really are.
    Fantastic!

Anyone ridden a Specialised Romin as thats been reviewed well and how does it compare to the Arione?

So how does a Arione differ from a Spoon? I'm riding the latter, but having been thinking of changing. I had a Fizik Pave Sport come with my CAAD and it was agony. Is the Arione better?

everyones jacksie is unique to them, although the arione is firmer than the spoon, thats not a bad thing. good pair of shorts and some chamois cream spread over the knackers area and you are good to go with that saddle.

Personally I didn't get on with the Arione (or Aliante and Antares), all were comfy for about 20-30 miles then they got more and more uncomfortable. Tried a Romin and although straight off it wasn't as comfy as the Arione I found it stayed at a similar level of comfort (at least up to 70 miles which is the furthest I've done on it). that doesn't mean the Romin is a better saddle, just better for me so everyone should try demo saddles first if possible before choosing.

I'm currently on an Arione Wingflex after several painful miles on a Phenom SL and then a weekend of "this defo ain't for me either" with a Thoork.

So far the Arione is bob on, but I do worry about it not having a cut-out.

I've been considering an Arione for a while. My existing Bontrager saddle has been ok, but longer rides can leave me a little sore. Then I bought some Craft Elite bib shorts, they've transformed the ride !!! The pad isn't particularly thick, just well designed. The last few rides I've been out on haven't left me with even the slightest amount of soreness. Definitely money well spent !!
I shall probably still get a new saddle though, you know what this sport is like for sucking money out of your wallet !!!!

This thread just goes to show that everyone likes a different saddle. Maybe it's because everyones arse is different

I'm OK on the standard-fit Cannondale thing that came with a synapse, but it does feel like it's crushing a bit of me that really doesn't want to be crushed when I push in the drops.

I've got an arione copy on my commuter bike, it was on my road bike but I'm going to chuck it, can't get comfy on it - I find there's too much pressure on my perineum because I slide off the wing at the back onto the thin nose

yet I did coast to coast on a charge spoon (transferred from the commuter) and not a hint of soreness

my theory is that the arione works for a different shape of sit bones so if you like the spoon you wont like an arione

I dont get on with the Arione. I demo'd one but my perineum is too pronouced and I get numb bits

I ended up with a Toupe but been having some rubbing issues recently. I've done a few thousand miles on the Toupe now. I think I may have to swap the Sudocream for some decent chamois cream.

Re Spesh Romins, I had an alias before and it hated me and I hated it, after nearly a year of giving myself time to get used to it I came to the conclusion it wasn't going to become comfortable so I had my arse measured on the arse'Ometer and found I needed a narrower saddle (130) so bought the romin, its less padded but seems to fit me better.
