noisey chain

just had a new chin put on and now it is very noisey.
there are no stiff links, but evh link is hitting something i think to cause the noise.
would it be a front derailler?
driving me nuts, probably crappy halfords bodge up.

    your chin shouldnt be anywhere near the front derailler. If it is its nothing to do with halfords.

    Is it making contact with the metal feed mechanism on the front derailleur? Does it make the noise in every gear on the rear cassette or just the extremes?

    I have a suspicion its a problem with the limit of the front derailleur but some more info would help !

    It wasn't a Taya chain was it Cruise...i aquired a new one once from a car boot, bloody useless.

    Is it the right length? If it wasn't shortened correctly (they are always a bit too long) the rear mech could be struggling to take up the slack.

    How many miles are on the cassette/old chain? I wonder if the new chain is not meshing nicely with your cassette.
