Freehub stopped ticking

On my way home from work tonight, as I was freewheeling down a hill my freehub just stopped ticking? The wheels are a year old and mainly only used in the dry. Do I simply need to re grease them or could it be a bigger problem?

Ideally I want to fix them myself without having to take it in or I will never learn!

Thanks

Ben

The springs inside the freehub could be destroyed, and they may need changing or it could be the pawls, either way it would sort it out as the pawls can get jammed, and you may find yourself riding a geared fix wheel. It's not a hard job either.

Have you lubed the hub recently? Pawls and springs could be clogged up with grease, assuming it is a cassette/freehub thingy.

    Is it going to explode?

See other post re 'Freewheel started to click' sorry didn't get address but at time of writing was three subjects above this post. There wasn't that helpful.
