Why are mini BMX race bikes so rare?

I've recently bought my six-year-old a junior racing bmx and he's having a go at racing. Problem is, my four-year-old isn't happy with just watching his brother and he also wants to give it go. I think that's great. However I'm a bit uncomfortable spending another £260+ on a bike for a four-year-old. So I'm trying to pick one up second hand. But apart from the odd one on ebay, I can't seem to find any.

Does anybody have any ideas where else I can look?

    Is there really any point in specialist bikes for that age? Would an something like an Islabikes Cnoc or a Ridgeback MX not do the trick?
    You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
    If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
    If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

    I too would go for an Islabike but perhaps the Beinn 20 small. Almost certainly going to get this for my 41/2 yr old in next month. Problem is that new it is £250. Also worth considering is the Specialized Hotrock 20 (i think) again for £250 or so. My reaoning is that it should last him 3 yrs or so and should get plenty of use from it. Won't get anything smaller cos size wise he is is between a 16" and 20".
