Hi all, I have a 2004 Rockhopper which I have since upgraded with deore disc brakes, Marzocchi MX air forks, shimano clip pedals, charge spoon saddle and Panaracer Fire XC tyres......my question is, does this bike still stand up well versus something like the current Hardrock Pro Disc, Carrera Fury etc or is the frame now dated? Weighing up if its worth selling and replacing with similar bikes to above.
Cheers.
Cheers.

In a word, yes! As good as the HR Pro, a bit different to the Fury. Do not think a bike for thatmoney would improve on what you have.0

Thanks, that was what I was hoping to hear. Wasn't sure how well it compared to new models being 7yrs since I bought it and the bikes look better than they used to. Sounds like its well up to task still. I need to replace the Fire XC's soon, can you recommend an all round fast tyre or the Fire's worth sticking with?

maxxis do good tyres so i hear.
but it depends on your riding style and what you want from a tyre?If in doubt - flat out!0 -
Bikes offer less value for money yours is better than those u list IMO. Some cheap deals on types on on-one, bobby nice half price which always get top ratings as an all rounder.0

Fair play! Written on my phone with fat fingers
What I meant to say was a few years ago was a golden era for bikes, and you could get a lot more at any given price point than you can today. And you can get some decent tyres at on-one half price at the moment, like the nobby nics.
My first post was a bit pointless really wasn't it?! :oops:0 -
I managed to work that out.
Bobby nice half price.

I would certainly keep my 07 rockhopper disk, over my 09 hardrock disk.
its like asking if you would have a 4 year old audi, or a new kia.
