Looking to get a couple of chains 10 speed any recommendations?
Ribble are doing the KMC X10 (X10.93) for about £17which seems good.

CRC are selling Mavic chains at a good price - have ridden one for 2000 plus miles on Shimano running gear without issue.

Bought a Wipperman chain for my old Ultegra groupset - no complaints and a good deal from Rutland

Damn that's a good price. Just bought a couple of those chains £22 each

They're what I usually use and can be recommended.

i'm looking at a new chain in the next couple of weeks. the problem is i'll be changing from 52/36 to 50/34 for the marmotte then back again. will i need two different chains for this or is it easy enough and ok to add links back in?

Just bought my 2nd KMC X10SL in gold for 27.00 on Ebay.
  • KMC X10 SL is the best chain I've found. Smooth, Quiet, and lasts very well.

KMC, then Sram, then all the others like Wipperman, Mavic ect. Then Shimano somewhere down the line.

Need to replace a Shimano HG73 chain. Running the chain on a 9 speed Tiagra compact double.

Would there be amy compatibility problems with replacing with a KMC (due shimano hyperglide narrow width?)

Looking at KMC X9 93, or KMC X9 Light?

    Thanks....

As long as it's a 9 speed chain it'll work.

I'd say get whichever is cheaper, unless the few grams difference is worth it.

I use a KMC chain on shimano. When I changed from a shimano chain the noise & shifting improved instantly. Unless the description says otherwise (eg it's cmapag specific or something) and it's the right speed (eg 9 or10 speed), you'll be fine.

Was that from Taiwan? I have just done the same, took a little while to arrive but they are £55 from CRC. I previously had the X10SL sliver which was excellent and much better the the DA chain I had prior to that.
