I know this is a hot topic but would like some advice please.

I have a high arch and when I ran needed over pronation shoes.
I also have had trouble when skiing as when the boot is tightened for performance, it 'squashes 'my foot into a flat sahape and therefore pushes the sides of my feet against the outside of the boot mimicking a wide foot.

You know whats coming now .....

I want some Sidis.....
This is for reasons of quality and longevity.

The chart tells me that I should be in a 43 as my UK size is 8.

Should I add a footbed with a raised arch to these with a regular width or go for the mega fitting which is 0.2 inches wider than normal?

Thanks

I have SIDI - - size 43 shoes but 44 in Sidi, and i have narrow feet, which they suit. I understand the pronation bit as an ex-runner, but not sure the same applies to a cycling shoe as there isnt the liklihood of rotation in a cleat ?

I would go for a footbed test and insert

I'd go for the mega, less chance for discomfort and you can always add a footbed after.

Size 43 sounds about right if your normally a size 8.

Giro Factor. Have a try. Come with adaptable insoles for different types of arches.

I just added some specialized high arch footbeds to my regular shoes and they feel great! My feet used to feel squashed or move around, now they fit properly!

    * when I say regular I mean regular cycling shoes and not fancy expensive sidi's

I have just ordered some Sidi's and went up half a size from my specialized. Hope they fit! This chart may be useful; http://www2.bsn.de/Cycling/shoe-sizing.html
