What's involved in taking a bike on a plane? Going to Italy later in the year and would like to take my bike. It's not a riding holiday by any means, I'd just like to take a few days out cruising around.

Is it just a case of paying a small fee for an extra bag....or would it be a whole world of pain and easier to hire one whilst I'm there?

maybe matbe not. it can be included in your check on weight. pedals will need removing and bars turning and tyre pressures reduced.

But contact the carrier for THEIR rules/requirements.
