barca are just class. I have to say I think even liverpool would have struggled against them.

I'd have been a "plastic Moscovite" tonight had they been playing spartack.

Truth is I don't really give a shit about football at that level. It's not just about plastic Mancs it's about Ferguson for me. I acknowledge he is an excellent manager, his record speaks for itself. The man is NEVER magnanimous in defeat, never gives credit where it's due.

Carrick on the field and Owen on the bench. I suspect Barca saw those two and knew the game was theirs.

Thing is, I think Utd helped Barca to look good. Most of the goals were not works of art, more like great finishing after Utd just let Barca have the ball 20 yards out and gave them clear sight of goal and not a Utd player close. It was also embarassing how many times Utd won the ball and then gave it straight back to Barca.

Great game though, worthy of the final.
  • What about the "argument" between Ferguson and Rooney? I still believe Rooney will be gone in the summer - the contract fall out a while ago was set up for both parties to do well and I would not be suprised to see him go to Spain- RM or Barca.

Considering Barca had 15 players on the pitch, using half a dozen balls, the outcome came as no surprise, in fact only surprise was they only scored 3, bit less show boating in penalty area could have resulted in a massive embarrassment

I am not sure who you have just insulted the most, but if your mum reads Bikeradar it could cost you big time :)

I imagine that any team coming under that amount of pressure would make a fair few mistakes.

This Barca team are probably the best I've ever seen in my life - who else would rip Real Madrid and Man U to shreds quite so easily?

    No.

That's a first if that was the case. Still glad they lost though.

    I agree with that.

I think Rooney is over-rated, a great PL player but not so hot against top class opposition at European or international level.

He's never get into the West Ham side

Its great for football that Barca and Spain are winning tournaments playing that brand of football. So good to watch, so skillful and surely the way the gods intended the game to be played.

Amazing that Barca were head and shoulders above Man Utd considering they have just won the premiership and therefore represent the best team Britain has to offer. Man U looked stone age compared to the Barca style. It was like trebuchets vs laser guns.

Rooney won't go abroad because he's too thick and the money won't be as good. It amazes me why top players in the PL don't go abroad more often. Do they get offers or is there no interest from abroad shown in the likes of Gerrard, Rooney etc? If I was a footballer in the PL and got an offer to go and play in France/Spain/Italy I'd be there like a shot but they all seem to prefer to stay playing in the PL and dicking about in the bars of London and Manchester. I'd be off to Marseille or Lyon like a shot! Rooney hasn't got the intelligence to go and make a career in another country. He wouldn't be able to handle it.

Henson is another good example of that. Gets signed for Toulon and has a perfect opportunity to revive his career in a lovely part of the world and he screws it up! Now he's going to end up back in Cardiff or Swansea. Wtf is he thinking? Ans: Not much.

(hey Joe..sun and no wind for a change! Get in!)

There are some lovely old Tom's in the Pigalle to tempt him to France, though. And as he struggles with English anyway, he should be fine abroad.
