Hi

Just to let you know there are some significant updates to the above book available as a downloadable PDF. Go to the page for the book at www.cicerone.co.uk and click on the Updates tab.

The updates are for the original 2003 publication and the 2006 reprint. They are:

Route 5 Sierra de Gredos & Guadarrama Stages 1, 2 & 7. The route from the Casa del Campo in Madrid has been changed. It now avoids the M501 dual carriageway using smaller more cycle friendly roads to Brunete. From there it heads south to Navalcarnero rejoining the original route beyond San Martin de Valdeiglesias. There is an option to use the full length of the Via Verde del Alberche. I'm sure most cyclists would find it an improvement on the original. The return to Madrid airport has been changed from Alcobendas to avoid roads that are now motorways.

Route 6 Madrid to Bilbao Stage 1 has changed with the banning of cyclists from the M111 runway underpass. The route now heads north to Alcobendas before heading east to Cogolludo. The new route has more riding on the high mesas.

Appendix 5 Madrid Airport. New map and directions that include Terminal 4 and recent road changes.

Other updates will be along in a future reprint (date to be confirmed) but should not pose a problem if a uptodate map is used.

Many thanks to Martin G & Andy M for their comments on previous threads that have proved most helpful

You took some flak on here a while ago, but instead of ignoring it you did something about it. Well done to you and Cicerone.
