Tour of the Roaches

Hi all

Just spotted a Sportive on my doorstep: http://www.xtramileevents.com/events/ca ... he-roaches

Thinking of doing the 75 miler. It would be my first sportive and am wondering how hard it might be with a chunk of the Peaks thrown in.

Anyone else doing it?

Just looked at this.......It looks to have potential.. the route though is bizarre to get a great long pan handle to do a Tour of the Roaches that starts in Altrincham !!!

I'm in, decided to be brave and go for my first century. I'm living in Dubai at the mo, so looking forward to some cooler riding. I need to get some serious training in though, it's not easy to ride any hills out here in the desert, never mind the heat!. Hopefully should be a good one, it wont take long to get out into the countryside.

Why not also go for the Polka Dot Challenge the week after - the 50 mile circuit should be manageable.

I think I'll wait and see how I fare in this one first  I'll still have a few days to sign up.
  • I've signed up for the long one, but I think it might prove a toughie. I've done a couple of 100km events so far this year and been pleased with my time / effort - and have ridden 100m+ on a number of occasions, but like RideOnTime says, it's a weird one getting my head around riding from Altrincham to the Roaches. I think once I'm on my way (and past home!) it'll be easier. Looking forward to the BH Monday to recover though... :)

Tempting, but I don't thInk I'd be able to resist the lure of the kettle when I go past our front door in Upper Hulme (see link below).
