The 'other' clipless moment

I knew this one was going to happen at some point; push off from the lights, don't quite clip the left foot in, shin gets pedalled on the next revolution. Frickin' painful. But how did I manage five different cuts on my leg from that? And who on here sports the most scars from this type of incident...?

    My shins are scarred from various pedal meeting incidents and my thigh will have a scar later from where it met a brake lever on thursday.
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    Never had any with SPDs...

    but after only 5 rides on my new bike with SLs I have 15 different scratches, one particularly nasty one that took a lump of skin off :(

    I'm sure I'll get the hang of them eventually...
