    Ha! (although I'll admit I only got that cos I googled "helical ridge"!).

    That happened to me a few weeks back near London Bridge station, As I went round the corner heard this godawful clattering as the screw wedged itself into my Schwalbe Blizzard and then clicked against the mudguards and frame as the wheel rotated. It was quite a shock!

    Yeah less dramatic than that for me, I have mudguards on my bike but I guess it went in deep enough not to make contact.

    I was actually quite chuffed it was so obvious as I had no spare tube and only a couple of CO2 cannisters.
