looking at having a weekend away on the bike in June,
Wales looks nice in the snowdonia national parks region, this will be my first trip so any advice on roads to ride and places to stay would really help.
im not looking at spending a fortune maybe staying in a few B&BS or just having a base for the whole weekend and cycling in a different direction from there.
Thank you...

I live in Porthmadog, it's an excellent base for penllyn and Snowdonia, plenty of b&b's and campsites in Morfa Bychan, Llanberis is 25mls aswell as Betws-y-Coed, if you want more info let me know

I got my girlfriend a weekend cycling in Snowdonia for her birthday in February - surely that's what all girls want isn't it?

...Anyway, we had a great time. We got the train from London to Llandudno Junction early on Saturday and cycled to Caernafon staying in a B&B. We had then planned a longer ride back on the Sunday, but there was train strike so we had to take a shorter route.

It being February the roads were almost deserted. Lovely. But I understand the roads are likely more busy in June - maybe look for smaller roads than we used.

    Some observations:
    - I had forgotten how beautiful Snowdonia is.
    - The hills were not too bad; long but not steep in general.
    - Long descents into sunny valleys made it worth every penny.
    - There aren't a lot of roads in Snowdonia, which makes planning routes a bit tricky.

These were the routes we planned:
    Day one : http://www.bikemap.net/route/822890
Day two : http://www.bikemap.net/route/832528 - shortened due to train strike :-(

We stayed here http://cartref-caernarfon.co.uk/ and was nice enough. Cheapish, nice location and bike friendly.

Anyway, a weekend cycling in Snowdonia is very recommended.
