Le 3 Ballons

I have registered for this one, has onyone done this before or is anyone looking to participate this year, it looks like a nice course in preparation for the big ones, for me it is the Maratona.

I've been tempted a few times as I live fairly locally. I rode L'étape de Légende a few years back which finished at the top of the Ballon d'Alsace, 213km. Maybe it was due to an illness during the weeks before the event, but I found it much harder than the Marmotte. The constant up and down, but mostly up, in the Vosges can be a killer. Beautiful scenery, not Alpine, but don't keep your head down and miss the view. I also found the locals to be very supportive of the riders with great support through the villages. Good luck.

I did it in 09, great event. Full of Dutch and Belgians for some reason.

Do a forum search as I wrote a long essay about it.
