Mothers Day...what do you usually do....

Looking for ideas for what to do on Mothers Day...Something different..Any ideas?

    Isn't Mother's Day sometime in May in Holland? Does your Mum get to watch the Giro with you instead?

    My family don't really celebrate stuff like mothers day/fathers day/love your dog day so i've always been free to watch Flanders and drink Duvels. Unfortunately my fiance has finally got her way this year and invited her folks round on sunday PM so won't be able to watch live but have negotiated a compromise that I can have the TV sunday evening to watch it delayed.

    I bet that the large majority of the population don't realise that it has it's origins based in Christianity.

    It's another commercial festival isn't it ? :wink:

    That said, flowers and card will be dutifuly sent.

    Yes, it always has to be a card with 'Mothering Sunday' for my mum. Mother's Day is a heathen festival for which participants will burn in hell.

    Strange question, it's Sunday, I go out on my bike and she cooks Sunday Dinner. If she make a good job of the Dinner I may get the kids to do the washing up.

    I am getting my girls to make my wife's breakfast...while I go out with the club until lunchtime. I like to think of it as a win-win :)

    It is clearly a marketing ruse to sell more flowers and gifts. I get the impression it is a rip off of the Fathers day held in June where the ladies and children of our nation join forces to pay homage and give thanks (via the donation of suitable gifts) to their hard working, bread-winning, discipline giving fathers.

    To this end, I'd ignore it and hope it goes away.
