I've recently pulled my old Muni Mula frame out to rebuild as a SS and remembered that it has, what looks like, a fracure along the weld where the headtube and downtube meet (under the bike). What are peoples thoughs as to whether the bike is ridable or not? It's about an inch long.

I'm afraid to say the bike is history
It will only get worse, and probably catastophically fail.
One to hang on the garage wall or recycle.0 -
Not even I would ride that, death trap. Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?0

LIES!! All of you......
I thought as much, I just need to hear it from someone else.

Well, ride it as a singlespeed. The inevitable faceplant might make you rethink the SS thing0

Its possible you could get it fixed if you can find someone with a tig welder.Statistically, Six Out Of Seven Dwarves Aren't Happy0

Without heat treating it to remove the welding stresses, I wouldn't bother. You can pick up Kona frames dirt cheap off fleabay.0

If the welder is worth his salt he'll know the prep work involved
A 2nd hand frame may well be cheaper though.Statistically, Six Out Of Seven Dwarves Aren't Happy0 -
Cheaper is what I mean. Chances are you'll have to pay good money to get a welder that's worth using.0

It's had it and that's that I think. Dark times. Need to save for something speacial now 8)0

More special than a Mini Mula?0

No point dwelling on the past! Onwards and upwards. Just a shame I sold my Coyote DS last year (I've been out of the game for a few years)0

What you need is a GT Ruckus Trail frame.0

Now is that a gunuine suggestion or are you pushing a frame you have for sale lol0

I think "All of the above"0

take it for crack testing and welding discussions."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I've always fancied the Mr Hyde frame, unless I see something as tough but for cheaper, I'll be saving for that.0 -

attach the frame to the wall by the head tube and make a really nice wheel truing jig out of the rear end0

A Ruckus Trail or a Ruckus DJ bike? Two totally different things.0
