Now, while I'd normally say a bit of wind never hurt anyone, this is pushing it a bit

Now you know why those Dutch boys are so good riding in cross winds.

Standard behviour from the DS in the car. "Yeah Michael, your bike is the lightest"
    No sympathy at all.

I remember reading somewhere that Dutch race organisers and DS's at the lower levels are properly harsh on all riders, and would absolutely berrate riders who ended up in the broomwagon.

That looked a leg burner, watching one of them trying to get back on his bike while the wind lifted it made me laugh.

Sinnige Wielerteam is one of the top Dutch feeder squads for juniors - they have the current National Junior Champ on their roster plus a few current pros as "OBs"

The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.
  • To someone who's never ridden that way, the rotating pattern they get going at about 2 mins, sharing the work, was oddly beautiful to watch.

That said, could anyone honestly recommend sheltering behind a dyke?

    Honk.

Don't fancy that riding a pair of 60mm deep carbon hoops!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
