Hi

I'm upgrading my Specialized Secteur with the older parts including a 2005 Record chainset. By all accounts it looks like this era of Record needs a bottom brack length of 102 but I have a feeling this is going to be a bit short. Does anyone know if there something about the Specialized BB's that means I need one thats a 111 length?

Many thanks for reading.

The Record BB recommendation from Campag was shorter than all the other groups which were 111 for double 115.5 for triple. Record was 102mm for double 111mm for triple so I guess the configuration of the spider is different,

Yup, Record and Chorus both take 102mm - shouldn't make a difference to your frame unless it has very big tyre clearances as the inner ring may foul the chainstays - is the bike presently fitted with a triple chainset? Check out "chainline" on www.sheldonbrown.com if you want to make sure.

Yes definitely 102mm, replaced my 2003 Record bb last year.
