Afternoon all,

Need a new rear wheel for my '09 Lappierre Spicy 316 and thinking of going for a hope hub with dt swiss comp spokes and stans flow rim but quite like the idea of a white rim, pimps the bike up a bit. But whats the paint quality like compared with the black, does it crack after time etc and is there a weight penalty for going for the black.

Thanks
Si

I've been running white flows for 4 months now and the paint is still in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, however I've never changed the tyre and that's probably going to be the most likely cause of damage to the paint rather than ageing.

According to the Stan's website the weight penalty is 40g per wheel for the powder coat.
