I'm looking to buy a new helmet. I realize a lot of expense is associated with design, airflow and weight reduction, however when the crunch comes do you think a £150 hat will protect my bonce better than a £50 one from the same makers? Thanks..

No. You're paying extra for better aerodynamics, lighter weight design and greater comfort in warmer conditions.

They all have to meet the required standards for safety.

It's hard to find a helmet at £50 that looks good. But if you find one - then go for it!

Otherwise, as ajb72 says - you are paying for looks, weight, comfort, etc.
