Yikes, dreadful weather... snow on the hills and rain too. Lots of DNFs: Casar, Roche, Capecchi, Eijssen,Turgot, Gavazzi, Lequartre, Van de Walle... and some DNSs: R.Feillu, Chavanel, Righi

Still 95 km to go too - tough day ahead.

    Sagan abandoned... bah.

A few attacks on this big climb... including Haussler... but nothing major yet.

Well the climb didn't split the pack up, but the descent has. Riders everywhere with Movistar leading the charge in group 1.

    Tony Martin is MIA.

    Where's Wiggins?

    Has Kloden made this split?

Cant see any Sky riders, but a big group with Martin is being paced back by HTC.

Waiting for the camera bike to sod off so he can abandon I think!

Nasty out there...can definitely see some GC changes.

Kroon the lone leader at the head of the race now. 2'10" with 33 km to go. Movistar grinding away at the front of the main bunch.

Calm before the storm? Or the beginning of a massive cop-out?

I thought I saw his gold helmet in the front group, but I may be wrong.

    Edit: just saw him again.

I heard 45 seconds down on the peloton with some other pre-race favourite who's name has just escaped me.

Looks like the collarbone's gone for Haussler....

Edit: Maybe not unless he's a f*cking hard bastard.

Confirmation: Haussler swears in English, not German.

Looks like his hand rather than his collarbone.

Indeed. The way he stoop up holding his other arm looked proper collabrone esq. (In my defence!)
