Wheel upgrade

I have a Cannondale Super Six with Shimano RS 10 wheelswhich I do not race.
I was thinking of buying a new set of wheels. Either Mavic Askium or Ksyrium Equipe.
Please let me have opinions on whether I will be able to tell the difference or is it not worth spending the money

What's your budget? Aksium isn't really an upgrade and the Ksyrium Equipe look expensive to me for a 1700g wheelset.More problems but still living....0

do you not think?
i went from rs10s to aksium after opinions on here and i have noticed a massive difference.
they are lighter, smoother and a much more comfortable ride than the rs10s. plus they are much easier to maintain.0 -
Bike Porn Plus (that's Cycling Plus to you & me ) had a good article last month on wheels - the Ksyeriums rated highly, but there are loads of other options in a similar price range - DT Swiss, Hope Hoops, Fulcrum etc.
Try Merlin Cycles, they always have very competitive prices for wheelsets."Get a bicycle. You won't regret it if you live"

Especially if you register with their VIP Club (free of charge) as this reduces prices further.0 -
...or a nice set of RS80s, same kind of price range, very light, stiff and smooth. Worth a look at IMO.0

+ 1 on the Shimano RS80's. Fine wheels if you can stretch to £300.
I'm a fan of Fulcrums as well.0 -

You noticed a 51 gram difference in weight?
They may be more reliable than the RS10, but Aksium are nothing special and are a sideways step from the RS10 as opposed to an upgrade IMHO.More problems but still living....0 -
didnt mavic have problems with the hub spoke anchorage points breaking off. i think it was the aksium wheels.0

Thanks for the advice on the alternatives. However I still need to get an idea about how much difference I will notice if I go for wheels around £300.0

price is no indicator of anything. they like to charge what they can .0
