So it only needs to have a bike in at some point to qualify :D

So mine is an oldie with a son and father both doing an america (i think) road race and near the end the father pulls out with brain issues (nose bleeds etc). Son does a massive sprint away on last race to claw back time (from various check points) and finishes the race after a crash by hobbling across the line...
Son also breaks his dads running machine record near the start of the film.

Any one remember that one?

    My personal favourite

    Texas Chainstay Massacre

    or failing that

    Cannondale Run
Fixed gear for wet weather / hairy roadie for posing in the sun.

Or if I can stretch the definition of of bicycle a bit (to just focus on the pedal power aspectt) then it has to be the utterly wonderful Bugsy Malone
FCN 5 belt driven fixie for city bits
CAADX 105 beastie for bumpy bits
    Litespeed L3 for Strava bits

Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
  • There's a bit of cycling at the beginning of Donnie Darko. Jake is supposed to be a bit of a closet (cough, cough) weekend roadie. You wouldn't know it from watching him on a bike in that film.

    ETA: Overcoming is pretty good.
Swim. Bike. Run. Yeah. That's what I used to do.

    Bike 1
    Bike 2-A
  • Riding Miss Daisy?

Debbie Does the Tour of Dallas?

The Devil in the Last 10km (bit subtle, perhaps?)?
Swim. Bike. Run. Yeah. That's what I used to do.

    The Pope's Toilet

In Melo, a poor Uruguyan country village near the Brazilian border, several men earn their living from contraband, mostly transported on bicycles. One of them, Beto, is getting too old for heavy freights but hopes to a earn a motorbike. The idea is to build and charge money for the use of a proper lavatory at the occasion of the first-ever papal visit to Urugay, as is holiness is expected to pass trough Melo where he may be cheered by hordes of Catholic Brazilians
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

The bit in Thelma & Louise when the black guy on the road bike is cycling along in the desert smoking a spliff, stops when he sees the police car at the side of the road, hears the cop trapped in the boot, then blows smoke into the hole in the top of the boot lid where the cop is sticking his finger out of, then cycles off.

At least I think its Thelma and Louise.

It's Breaking Away, a truly great film and I don't think it has anything to do with Disney
