Been riding mountain bikes for years now taking to riding road bikes aswell (and enjoying)so please advise if you can.

Currently have a Boardman Team Carbon Comp (£999 2009) struggled for a while but since putting a slightly longer stem on and riding it more Im starting to enjoy it and just signed up for my first sportive in June (106 miles).

Would there be any point in upgrading the wheels ? Askium, ksyrium equipe/elite ?

Also looking at a possible "Sunday" bike, advice really needed !!!

  • Hello - the Comp is a great frame and well specced too. I'd suggest you might benefit from getting it fitted properly to you via bike fitter. This makes huge difference to your comfort levels. However, you will notice the benefit from a new set of wheels too. I may be biased but it can make a huge difference to the way a bike handles by dramatically reducing the weight and improving the ride. Also a set of hand built wheels can reflect your weight and usage more specifically.

    Hope that helps, Jonathan
