I'm still riding on the massive high of becoming a parent!!! Wife gave birth to our daughter on Wed, called her Eva Lily.

When you hear/see people saying 'best thing ever done/feeling ever' I always used to think yeah yeah  but I have to admit IT IS!!!!!

Congratulations to you and your wife, and a warm welcome to Eva Lily. :D
  • Congatulations, savour every moment they grow up very quickly.

Well done to you and the mum. Grab every spare second of sleep you can get... cycling will soon become one of the least exhausting aspects of your life!

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Yes, but what did you call your daughter? ;)

    Congratulations, there's nothing like it.
Only piece of advice I have for parenting: what you need is stamina - just never, ever give up. One other thing - the more you are willing to give (to baby and Mum) the more you get out of it.

Well done, welcome to the dad club, it's great. :D

+1 to that, and hope you're all well.

My children are now 24 and 22.

I remember asking Mrs Tank "Where did all that child benefit go" ?

  • Congratulations, its a real rollercoaster, when are you having the next one? You'll get plenty of baby rearing advice, ignore it & go with your guts and buy Mrs DFR a cabbage - the leaves are very soothing
  • Congratulations, it is a great feeling. Second one coming up for 6 months now, and struggling to remember my 4 year old at that age so enjoy every second.

    Congratulations! :D

Our son arrived in October last year - he's still not sleeping through! Get used to surviving on 5 (broken) hours...

Oh, take loads of video/photos as well. It's incredible how quickly their little faces change.

    Congratulations
  • Now you will understand the true meaning of love!

Don't be fooled by the parents who claim their babies sleep from 7pm tp 7am, they are deluded form a lack of sleep. Just look into their eyes to see the 200m stare! :D

+1 (well mine are currently 3 & 6 - so it might change)
  • Neither of my children slept through until they started with solid foods at 3 and 4 months respectively, then it all happens like magic!

(I'm talking about a bit of very runny baby rice or dissolved rusks, not sausages and chips)

    Congratulations :o

My first slept 13hrs a night right from the off. 2nd wasn't too bad either. That's just the wives though, the babies were up all night.
