Is it me, or simply because I live in the country, when I am riding in the relative dark on back roads I always appear to be attacked by killer rabbits, or at least the %(*&£$%^ things see me and decide to dart into the road and stand there, and I thought sheep were thick.

Worst still are the low flying partridges attacking from just over the hedge low flying from one side of the road to the other.

No no those are two different things, aren't they? :?
  • Run them over?

Are they pests in the UK? They are in NZ so you're encouraged to, uhm, run them over.

I had a rabbit curry last week, first time I've had rabbit since I was a boy. Forgotten how good it was.

Chase them, chase them! They're bloody quick, I tracked one at a steady 20mph for about 1/4 mile last year. Worthy SCR foe. Never had one just sit in the road though.

I've been attacked by squirrels, bees, pidgeons. Who needs 'Wild At Heart" for animal-based drama.
  • I ran a young rabbit over once. Going down a hill fast. Got stuck to my back wheel and got thrown up in the air as high as a telegraph pole.

Doing the Bristol to Bath cyclepath after beers in Bath we encountered plenty of them as they darted across the path, the whites of their eyes caught in our lights was scary the first time but became targets after that.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
