hello guys, just got a new bike yesterday and went out on it for the first time. it has slx breaks which are working great but when i was cleaning the bike after my ride i noticed i kind of grind/hiss when i spin the front wheel.

the wheel seems to spin freely so i dont think its catching on the rota? not really sure what it is, could it just be some grit cought between the pads or somthing? should i be worried?

  • take the pads out and clean them with a dry cloth or brake cleaner if you have it- do not use any detergents.

Yes its, pretty common for grit and crap to get in there during cleaning and cause grinding noises, give them a good rinse, it will go away one they've dried out a bit.

if it is not catching then look to the hub for the noise.

but it will just be the pads touching slightly.

nothing to worry about and nothing to do.
