    Don't be such an arse.

Personally found it nothing like any other man made trail - very unique place and a lot of fun squeezed into a small area.

OOOH sorry if my OPINION differs from yours
  • ibbo68, opinion is fine. However, one thing is for sure it is NOT like every other man made trail.

I agree 100%,i go up at least once a month.I have learned so much in the time riding there,i treat it like a massive skills area.As its not a massive place the variety of lines is amazing.
I am still yet to make the climb from the car park in one go  but i will and get a bit further every time.

it is good long climb up from the car park though it seems like its never ending, theres some technical bits with some nice sweeping bermy sections but theres little bits that will bite you if youre not concentrating and theres no grass only rocks to fall on so i get padded up just take youre time and enjoy :D

  • How is Lee and Cragg riding at the minute? Off work on friday so i can go ride my new bike and it's a toss up between Lee/Cragg or Llandegla. I like the quarry but not the cleaning involved after where as Llandegla at least has bike was facilitys
What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?

I went up over christmas and to say i was caked in mud would have been an understatement yet i had massive ammounts of fun (especially the short black section), i'll probably make my decision depending on the weather on thursday. The last time i rode there i was on my 100mm hardtail and it did struggle with some of the terrain but the new beast should in theory skip over anything major at speed

Llandegla is 90% in a forest so sheltered from the wind and rain for the most part, it also has extensive dranage so holds up pretty well in all kinds of weather, i'd say it's the better of the two places it's just can i be bothered with the 100 mile round trip.

  • Been called into work tomorrow because we're unbelieveable busy (what recession?) so all my plans are out of the window and the forcast isn't great for the next week or so :( all i want to do is go for a proper ride on my new bike :x

I've read about Gisburn and it seems like a place you ether love or hate, most people don't seem to like the ammount of firetrail you need to ride. But we go camping http://www.wyresidelakes.co.uk pretty regular and is only 20 miles from Gisburn forest so it'd be rude not too give it a go.

  • Me and a mate are off for the first time tommorow. Both on Carreras, me on a Vulcan and him on a Fury. Is it suitable for Hardtails or is t going to be a complete chore? Going to wear a full face, as i don't like te idea of falling off and eating rock.

My hardtail is a Vulcan and it was just about upto the task, it handled prettymuch everything i put it through although there was a few points that caused me worry, i wouldn't attempt the rock garden at the back end of the quarry as it just looked way too gnarley for my liking. Although now i have my full bouncer i feel 110% more confident.

  • Yeah I'll purchase a full bouncer one day when i can afford one :) Give it a go tommorow, its all a learning curve. Hpefully come summertime, me and my mate will be blasting.

Becoming single is the best way to afford a full bouncer, i've been skint for the last 5 years but now i'm single i managed to save the money for a Comenncal Meta 5.5 within 4 months, I know i'll have more fun riding her than i ever did the ex missus 8)

You'll have a lot of fun up there and will improve you skills pretty quickly as although it isn't the most technical theres the potential for supprises pretty regular

  • Off up to Lee and Cragg in the morning and really looking forward to it after riding up at Llandegla on Sunday. I thought my hardtail was quick when on the trails but i was 5mph faster on my new full suss

We're going up again tommorow! Look for two Manc idiots pratting about up there on Carreras.
  • I think i was talking to you at one point did you have a silver 661 full face helmet? If so i was the idiot on the BRIGHT orange Commencal and my mate had a white Commencal. Had a cracking time at Lee Quarry although i was a little disapointed with Cragg, it seemed a hell of a long trek over the moors to get too and seems to be a bit of a stop start kind of route although the ride back from Cragg to Lee was A++++ fast and flowing with plenty of jumps.

Quality day. lovely weather. just wish it wasn't as muddy. Should be up next Thurs! may try cragg when im not on a night shift the night before!

I'm heading up to Llandegla saturday or would probably gone back up to Lee Quarry again, a few of my mates have seen the video and have sudenly decided they could do this mountain biking lark as it looks easy :? I'm looking forward to taking them up one weekend just to watch them fall off or collapse on the ride from the carpark  I can see it being ultra fast once the weather improves and the soup starts to dry up. Good to meet you anyway as there are way too many stuck up people who just ignore other when out riding.

  • Wanna try Llandegla sometime soon, but i'm really enjoying Lee, theres loads of little runs offs and bits to mess about on. Is that Vid of the Black run, one of the choices on top of that hill? And yeah i reckon its going to be really good in summer. It was a bit of a bog this week.

Ah, me and my mate are a pair of gobshites that never stop talking, people should socialise as it puts others at ease. I hate the look at me attitude from some bikers.

Maybe trying Gisburn again next week.
