Specialized Transition Brakes - Alternatives?

I have a Specialized Transition and the rear brake has died - anyone know if a regular U-Brake would fit - or does it have to be the Specific one from Specialized? Would like something with a more powerful spring to overcome the resistance from the long cable run.

    Regular U-brake will probably be too big - you'll need to measure the distance between the mounting studs. I doubt there's many if an alternatives as it's a relatively unique brake design. Might be worth trying to salvage it and maybe use a Gore sealed cable to reduce cable drag?
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
