Does the fact that the Manic Street Preachers - who, let's remind ourselves released an album called Generation Terrorists in 1992 and appeared on TOTP in balaclavas and camouflage - have released a special performance (available on the 'Red Button') for Radio 2 mean my 'era' has passed? :(

Which album? Shear Heart Attack - Queen's third go, in 1974. Dunno why that over anything else but it was and is a top platter. It also works as the in-built personal stereo in the head. No need for the Walkman / iPod. I can hear this album any time start to finish without a gap, with the crackle at the start where the needle lands. 8)

    Not necessarily

Mark Knopfler was on BBC4 on Friday night and I had a good hour for wallowing in nostalgia.

    You're done.

So that would make a recent taste for dubstep some sort of musical mid life crisis. Oh dear.
