Do the funicular railway upto Victoria Peak and grab a five star trip on the Star Ferry if feeling flush, something in the region of 50p.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

  • They don't eat dog in Hong Kong, that's (some parts of Korea). But hey why not make sweeping, ignorant, racist generalisations about the whole of South East Asia. T*t

It's very kind of you to allow us to do that, but for now we were just making sweeping, ignorant, racist generalisations about Hong Kong.
    But the night is young.

Buy cheap electrical goods whilst eating dog and dressed up as a hooker, then dress up as a dog and eat a hooker whilst listening to a cheap mp3 player?
  • There is Bottoms Up bar, i think it has moved to the mainland now, that was an awsome pub
They have moved the airport so watching the planes 50ft above the buildings isnt there any-more, cos that was brilliant, if not slightly worrying.
Victoria Peak for a bit of sight-seeing away from the centre, overlooking Kowloon, pretty decent if not foggy/smoggy.
Shopping at the markets, many dodgy replica goods at decent prices if you haggle. 8)
Some very good places to eat, the Zoo is ok, not loads of animals but something to do away from the crowds for a hour or so.

Cant really think of much more, its been years since i spent any time there, and most of that was spent with nekid ladies, loads of alcohol and doing the occasional bit of work.

the Zoo is ok, not loads of animals .

is that because they have all been eaten?

Seriously, it's a huge city, with hookers. All the dogs have been eaten.

Highlight according to the official website:
The Hong Kong National Geopark, inaugurated in November 2009, is located in the East and Northeast New Territories and covers an area of 50 sq kilometres. It includes the ‘Sai Kung Volcanic Rock Region’ and the ‘Northeast New Territories Sedimentary Rock Region’

So once you've finished looking at rocks.....

i was banned form twycross zoo at an early age when my old man took me there.

i was in the farmyard area trying to feed the goats when one of them charged me and i lashed out and hit it.

the poor thing flipped straight over and its feet fell off.

the keeper in the enclosure went mental and we got escorted off after my old man got a proper bolloking (which he did not appreciate n the slightest i might add)

Should have cooked it, would have given him something to moan about.
  • Post this over on the dark side's cake stop. There's a fella called pottsSteve who worked in HK for a good few years he'll be able to help you.

    - Victoria Peak's already been mentioned - it's pretty cold at the top at this time of year mind. I went there in Feb once in jeans and a t-shirt and froze my nuts off waiting for the tram thing to go back down.
    - Lan Kwai Fong is full of bars clubs (and expats) so good for a pi$$ up night out. Also quite a few local girls and Philippino maids looking for 'rich Western man' :) There's also a place near there called Soho which is actually a bit quieter and more civilised.
    - Wan Chai for the girlie bars
    - Happy Valley race course for a night punting on the gee-gees (they take their betting pretty seriously).
    - If you want to splash some cash at a restaurant with a view, try 'Aqua' on the Kowloon side: spectacular views over the harbour/skyline esp with all the Chinese New Year lights up.
Otherwise just wander round and sample some random restaurants and bars, its pretty safe. Also good fun taking pot luck ordering random stuff in a restaurant with no English menu, there are a few.

    .

I remember being amazed in the chinatown part of London seeing 2 Ladbrokes betting shops within eyeshot of each other.

"serious" doesn't do their fanaticism over betting justice
