I've done it..........Ordered my new bike today. :D

Had a fitting session at Epic Cycles last week and, after spending some time mulling over the options, I have decided to order a Bianchi Infinito 105. I should get it in a week or so. Am I excited........Not very much......

Here's a picture of it....http://www.epic-cycles.co.uk/images/Bianchi-Inf-10511-1000.jpg

Can't wait for some good weather.

Bob

I bought an infinito Ultegra from Epic last year and have had lots of great rides on it. I hope that you enjoy yours just as much - good choice.

Thanks for the comments. The bike looks lovely and rides like a dream.

I must say that I have been very impressed with Epic. Excellent service. And isn't it great to walk into a proper bike shop. It is full of road bikes.

Good point about the tyres. The test bike had black tyres so I assumed that mine would have as well. I have also requested black bar tape. The white looks good but I don't think it is very practical as it is hard to keep it clean.

Should have the bike in a little over a week, can't wait!!!!!!!!

Nice. I'd remove that black disc that sits behind the cassette, just looks wrong. I wish more carbon frames had internal cables, looks so much nicer. Enjoy :-)

+1 cheapens the look of the bike a bit. Other than that it's very nice.

That black disc is part of the stand which holds the bike up!

    Gorgeous bike.

Yes - but he needs to get a new stand without a big black disk... either that or ride the bike where he doesn't need a stand.

No it isn't - it's a Pro Bike Stand - and that black disc is a pie plate.

Great choice. The Infinito is supposed to be a really good frame - ridden by Robbie Hunter in the 2009 Giro!
  • Curiously the disc is only there on the 105 and Athena versions of the bike. There are three others that don't have it. Why?????

These disks are really only there to prevent the chain going into the spokes through incorrect gear adjustment, an insurance policy against the fumblings/ignornace of the inexperienced. Maybe it's assumed that if you are buying Ultegra and upwards you should know how to adjust your gears?
  • Neeb. Good theory but fatally flawed as the Veloce equipped bike has no disc!

I need to give Epic a call today, I think I will ask them to remove it. Although, saying that, I didn't really notice it when I looked at the bike and when I rode it.

I stand corrected, deceived by this nugget.
