Today my new road bike arrived.
I'll be using it for training during the remaining winter months, races & sportives and commuting to work in the Spring & Summer.

2011 Specialized Allez Elite - Size 58

Key Features
E5 smooth welded aluminium frame
Carbon Fork
Tapered head tube : 1-1/8" upper and 1-1/5" lower
Shimano Tiagra groupset
Double chain ring - 50 x 34
Weight around 9.2kg

I'm keeping the bike standard for a couple of months, In June I have a 130 mile Sportive so will get some lighter Shimano RS80 wheels for that.

Fine looking machine. You appear to have already replaced the main stumbling block of my Allez, the wafer-thin sh!te tyres it was supplied with.

Current Allez frame with it's nice bowed toptube looks-wise is a real improvement on my ye olde uber sloping model.

Gorgeous bike. I think the arched top tube is a stroke of genius. What tyres are they?

    Thanks for the comments :)
I took the bike out for 24 mile shakedown ride yesterday and it is amazing; smooth, stable and fast.
I have swapped the standard tyres for some Michelin Speedium 2's.

    I'm going out for a 40 mile hilly training ride today - can't wait !! :)

    That is very, very nice.

I would say that the Allez design has 'come of age'. The shape is different and from the one I saw in a shop, the tubes look beefed up too.

And red and white is THE Allez colour!

    Good choice :)

Fine looking bike - the last few I've seen reviewed in the mags seem to have had great write ups as well.
