Brompton Shimano Front Hub Dynamo

Hi to the forum,

Hope somebody can help. I have a Brompton P6R, with front Shimano hub lighting. I had a front puncture from a massive pothole last week, and since then my lights aren't working.
I've changed front punctures in the past with no problems, there's just one little plug that connects to the dynamo.
I haven't found anything specific on troubleshooting the Shimano lights. I've done simple stuff like trace the cables, and can't see anything obviously wrong.

Does anyone have any experience of this, or any tips on where to start the troubleshooting?
TIA

Gaz

    Have you checked the bulbs?

Is it double wired or single wired?

Check you haven't pulled out a cable from the plug.

I cannot remember but if LED light could you have put the plug back the wrong way round.

TBH, troubleshooting dynamos is an utter pig, i'd recommend taking it to lbs. Much easier.

The standard Shimano dynamo plug can only be inserted the correct way.
Check that the 2 exposed contacts on the wheel are not damaged
Check that the 2 wires inside the plug are correctly engaged. You pull the grey bit out of the black bit of the plug.

I put a dab of vaseline on the contacts to prevent corrosion.
