This is just a little message to a Radar user by the name of Pete, Pete saw a advert on Pistontonheads of a White Stumpy Elite for sale and on inquirey he noticed it resembled a add that I placed on here nearly 3 weeks ago of mine being stolen!! After a few texts and late night calls last night me and Pete decided we would set up this person selling the bike, after a few nervous hours wait today he took the bait!!

I went to the police station to see if an officer would like to escort me to the said persons address of which to my amazement they said they would not!! and took details off me and advised me not to go in person!! Well im sorry but I dont roll that way and along with 2 other lads for a bit of backup ( both being martial arts experts) we got into the van to said address.

On arrival we come across a lad of about 20 years of age living at home with mommy and daddy ( shame becaause I was lookin forward to a new TV) lol and 2 english Bull Terriers!! I went down to his little bike shed and hey presto there was my bike!! Biting my lip I said yep great Ill have it and proceded to remove it from his house, I lean the bike up the van and get my pics and docs to my bike from the passanger seat!!

I turn to the lad and say I "have some good and bad news for you" The good news is that I have not brought the Police with me and the bad news is there is 3 of us and only 1 of you!! ( I dont think I have ever seen someone turn grey lol) He denies that the bike is stolen tellin me he has had it for 4 months then I show him the matchin frame number!! too which he turns even greyer!! With his mom shouting on the doorstep to let it go and seeing him get a wet patch in his pants he decides its no good and gives in!! I then tell him im goin to be back in 2 days time to get my Madone 4.7 and my Orange patriot also if not im getting the police involved!!

Im putting this on here tonight just to prove that not to give up on your bike if it has gone missin and sites like this just proves what a great comunity the biking world is!! I dedicate this too Pete thanks mate thankyou very much..........

To be continued...........

PS The lad also had a Black Specialized Hardrock 2010 also in that shed but I didnt want to get into that but if anyone has lost one or knows of anyone in the Coventry area give me a bell on 07921355949 my name is Aza

Excellent story. Did you go back for the Madone and the Orange? And how about plod, did you tell them thanks for nothing!
Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.
Think how stupid the average person is.......
half of them are even more stupid than you first thought.
  • happy you got your bike back :D

the police are worst than rubbish when it comes to these things, they will make any excuse possible to avoid going to recover these goods.

bikes stolen and later sold on ebay are very common, ebay cant be arsed to get involved and when the police are informed they make no attempt to stop the auction or attempt any arrests. they simply say that they will recover the bike when it is sold to the unwitting new"owner", the new "owner will be out of pocket and they cant do much about it.

when the police recover the bike from the buyer of the bike, they will store the bike for upto several months as "evidence"where they are dumpoed and stacked causing more damage to the bike than the thieves.
