Hi

Got a Garmin 705 for Christmas plus UK Map, can someone confirm if i need the Garmin
Trip & Waypoint Manager to plan routes on PC so that i can download to the 705.

Is it any good?
Are there other alternatives i should consider?

Many thanks

  • I use http://www.ridewithgps.com.

Find it the most stable. Allows you to output in different formats. I also like the presentation of your stats.

Also links to FB if you want to show off your awesomeness to others.

or use bikeroutetoaster.com, also enables you to plan route then upload directly to the 705 as either a route .GPX or a course .TCX file.

    Your a star!

Logged on, created route, exported it onto 705 all in 15 mins, fantastic!!!!

Will look to import file after the weekend.

In my (limited) experience so far the 705 worked better for me following a Course than a Route.
