Full suss rear shock replacement question

Having only recently just got my 1st full suss I'm wondering, do many people change the rear shock for something different after a while? And for what?

Just interested to find out to be honest!

    nope and why bother.

    may be get it tuned if you are not one of the standard norm.

    I guess you could if the current shock was low on adjustability and you were not getting on with it's limitations then there is always the change or upgrade route.

    What have you got on your current bike and what do you use it for?

    I have in the past and no doubt will again the future. Just because a shock came with a frame does not mean it's the best option. Examples being air shocks on Hecklers or the complete **** Specialized AFR shock on....anything.


    Tuning a shock can involve a few things, but in short it's set up to work better, more mid stroke support if needed, tuned for your weight/riding style, better damping....etc. etc..

    If it's standard it's an RP23, nothing wrong with that.

    you wont have to have the adjusters maxed out.
