tyres size question

I have run 2.35 on my hardtail but wonder if bike will going to be "smoother runner" with 2.50? many thanks

    Maybe, maybe not, depends on tyre pressure, what tyres, what rims, and many other things

  • Bigger tyres = Bigger weight and lower rolling, so on the downs things will feel better, but accerleration out of corners and riding on the flat and definately climbing are going to suffer for it.

    Maybe look at high volume tyres which although tehnically mid sized 2.2 - 2.4 ranged are large but designed with rolling and weight in mind. Things like continental rubber queens 2.2's, schwable fat alberts, maxxis ardents. That kinda thing might be a better compromise.
