Best bike storage method?

Im just getting around to fitting out my new garage and want a better solution than just throwing all the bikes on top of each other. we have 7 bikes in all, I want to be able to access any one of them easily without having to dig through a pile. Also want to take up as little room as possible.

Is it better to hang them from the wheel, or hang them from the top tube? Any cool gadets out there?

    I hang mine from the front wheel with BBB Parkinglot. A bit of staggering on the height of the hooks prevents bar meshing and saves a bit of width.
