Is wobbly. It can be tightened but it does not feel smooth when doing so. After about a month the pivot becomes so loose it is unrideable. What could this be?

Does it use cartridge bearings or bushings? If it's one of these that's broken, how would one go about replacing them?

Contact Focus or Wiggle - sounds like whatever it is needs a replacing, they'll have the parts.

nope. Sounds like you have been trying to hide a problem without getting it looked at/sorted.

Well it isn't my bike so i couldn't comment on that, its my mates bike.

edit: would locktiting the threads on the pivot bold keep it tight safely or do parts really need replaced? i doubt he'll want to spend money on it, he wont have it for much longer and theres other things wrong with it too.
