Campag Veloce problem

My Veloce/FSA Setup will change perfectly well from big ring down to small, but if I try change from the granny back to the big ring it just spews the chain off?

I ordered some Deda gear this week so bought an extra dog fang - still waiting for delivery but I presume this will not help getting the chain back onto the big ring, just stop it dropping off the small ring? Any suggestions please?

It sounds like you need to set the upper limit of the derailleur cage travel. The limit screws are on top of the pivot body although I cannot recall which is for lower and which is for higher.

Does it throw the chain beyond the big ring onto the crank or is it getting stuck between the rings?

has it started doing this all of a sudden?

Is the front mech cage parallel to the chainrings?

Is the front mech parallelogram still attached at all it's contact points?
(son's mtb front mech used to self destruct and throw the chain off when one of the pivots parted)
  • If memory serves me correctly, the lower screw (nearest to the cage) is the adjustment for the higher gears, and the top screw is for the lower gears.

Great, thanks everyone for the answers - will give it a looking at tomorrow before my ride, I rarely need the granny ring around here, but it needs to be right

It will probably cure the slight catching of the cage on the inside edge of the chain in higher gears I expect too
