Finished this build a little earlier this evening and wanted to share my new pride and joy so excuse the dodgy photo. I spent a long time agonising over this purchase but opportunity knocked and I could not resist in the end. I will post some better pictures when I get the chance

I need to find some suitable bottle cages but thats it build wise. Oh, and it appears that Campag have changed their brake pad holders for 2011 so the carbon pads I had ordered do not fit :? Any suggestions?

Based on my other bikes, I can probably lose the spacers above the top cap but will wait until I have got some miles in first before I do so.

This is my first Colnago and my first build with Campag so I really cant wait to get out on the road - I just hope its before Spring

Cheers

Rich

I can change a tub almost as quick as a clincher. (I use tape)...

    Great build Rich,

I was toying with the 59 also - but went with a Parlee in the end....

How do you mean the pads dont fit? Are they the Lightweight Campy ones? Can you not just squeeze them in?? or 'modify' them slightly with a file so they fit???

Hi Neil - As for the Tubs, I ran them on the road for my best bike no probs, got two punctures last year total - but like NapD says easy to fit a replacement, Just make sure it has been mounted / stretched and has tape on it as I found the tape usually comes off on the tub and the wheel is clean!

I went for Lightweight Clinchers this time though!!

Really is a great looking machine... and the Colnago Geo is hard to beat (IMHO)

I always run tubs on my best bike. Keep a Tufo Elite Jet in my back pocket as a get me home (folds up plenty small enough) - but, honestly, tubular tyres are more puncture resistant than tyres and - like NapD, I use tub tape and can swap over tubs in seconds. The comfort, higher pressure, lighter weight and better rolling resistance of tubs make it a no brainer for me.

Anyway, as I posted on WW, killer ride Rich.H, need a ride report when the weather's better (in March!), what did it replace?

What it "replaces" is an interesting concept......I was always planning to sell my Look 595 but I am not sure I can bring myself to let that go just yet. I have no justification for keeping both for myself, but my son will probably ride it next year and I will then look to sell the Kuota he has been riding and get him a full on winter bike in time for next Autumn.

    Thats the current plan anyway
