I think a cheap pair of Sking gloves would do Ken. At the end of the day, they all keep your hands warm !

  • I have the Gore goretex countdown. My hands are still cold. Only thing it seems to be good at is keeping my hands dry.
  • if theres any left , the aldi winter gloves at £ 5 a pop are as good as any ive used .

Best winter glove ever. Waterproof and windproof and insulated. Rubbery bits in all the right places to give contact and grip.

    I like these: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=33888

They're £10 at the moment, which is a steal !!!

Which ones do you have, Chris? I have the ones that claim to be "waterproof" and they are anything but. They are either soaked inside from sweat or soaked because they've let the rain in (I literally wring them out). Deeply disappointed.

If you're only planning on doing a few journeys, you're as well to buy a pair of "ski" gloves or similar. I'm doing a lot of miles this winter and have the Assos Early Winter & Lobster gloves (picked up from eBay) and they work a treat but are not what the OP is after I'm sure.

I have a pair of the Go Outdoors gloves with the rubberised grip parts, and they do the job well enough. You could try Maplins to see if they still do those heated goves if you're into overkill I s'pose.

Gloves is gloves pretty much, when it comes down to it. <awaits howls of derision...>

I've just ordered a pair of these - couldn't resist them for only a tenner!

I've only had my sealskins for a couple of weeks but have ridden a couple of 50 milers in them and they've felt good. Waterproof for me, but of course you will get sweat build up. I dont know any glove that can be waterproof and breathable enough for cycling.

Ski gloves are good for when its really cold - but works best for me when i'm riding fixed so i dont need to mess round with STI's.

  • These http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=17463 are excellent and at that price a real bargain.
